Baffle silencers and acoustic turrets to reduce the environmental impact of an industrial facility

Challenge

As part of its factory expansion, an industrial glass product manufacturing site required significant ventilation to supply air to the furnaces and regulate temperature in the work areas.

Located next to residential areas, significant acoustic objectives were set by the project management to ensure that noise radiated by the ventilation openings would not impact the neighborhood.

To meet the acoustic objectives while ensuring the ventilation flow rates requested by the client, we designed, manufactured, and installed a complete acoustic ventilation system comprising:

• ALTAÏR’ stratis baffle silencers at the air intake, equipped with VIRG’ aloa rain louvers and motorized dampers for air flow regulation
• Acoustic roof turrets composed of a soundproofed elbow, a motorized fan, an ALTAÏR’ stratis baffle silencer, and a rain cap
