Issues
The aim of this project was to design, manufacture and install a protective enclosure to house and acoustically isolate a turbine-generator set. The turbine is supplied with natural gas and drives a generator via a gearbox. This unit was part of a natural gas decompression plant installed in France.
In addition to acoustic performance, high standards were set for the Shelter's fire resistance.

Ecib solution
We designed and built the acoustic shelter in three sub-assemblies to meet the project requirements. The enclosure is designed to limit the external effects of an explosion inside the site.
QUASAR' acoustic explosion vents act as valves in the event of an explosion. These QUASAR' vents are dimensioned to open at a pressure of 30 mbar, while the rest of the Shelter's structure is designed for a minimum resistance of 100 mbar.
To ensure protection against internal fires, the acoustic enclosure features high fire resistance performance for a 60-minute fire resistance guarantee.
Acoustic Optimization
Acoustic measurements carried out after the works confirmed the performance levels set out in the specifications, with an average noise level of less than 63 dB(A) at 1 metre around the Shelter when the turbine-generator unit is in operation.
In addition to acoustic performance, an inspection body has validated our equipment's compliance with Directive 2006/42/EC "MACHINES", with conformity marking, and Directive 2014/34/EU "ATEX": zone 2 IIA T1 inside the Shelter.
