Acoustic building: a structure dedicated to industrial noise insulation

Écib designs custom acoustic buildings to isolate noisy industrial equipment while guaranteeing ventilation, safety and accessibility.

Why opt for an acoustic building rather than a simple enclosure?

The acoustic building is a structure dedicated to theoverall isolation of a noisy installation, often large-scale, when a simple enclosure is no longer sufficient. It enables a noise source to be completely contained, while maintaining the technical functions and accessibility required for operation.

At Écib, we design custom acoustic buildings to meet the most complex requirements. Our structures incorporate high-performance acoustic materials, as well as all the necessary equipment: acoustic doors, soundproof ventilation grilles, maintenance hatches, soundproof glazing, fire-stop devices, etc.

An acoustic building can take the form of :

  • an insulated shelter for a generator or compressor,

  • a self-contained acoustic equipment room,

  • an outdoor enclosure for large machines or test benches,

  • or a dedicated room for operators or sensitive equipment.

Our projects take into account ventilation, accessibility, fire safety and regulatory requirements (French Labor Code, ICPE, environment). Each project is the subject of a tailor-made study: acoustic assessment, performance calculation, 3D drawings, prefabrication in the workshop and on-site assembly.

Frequently asked questions about acoustic buildings

What's the difference between an acoustic building and an acoustic enclosure?

The building is a self-contained, habitable structure, designed to totally isolate a piece of equipment or an area, unlike the enclosure, which is simply a box.

When should an acoustic building be installed?

When noise levels are high, equipment is bulky, or personnel are working in close proximity.

Can ventilation be integrated into an acoustic building?

Yes, with sound traps or silencers to ensure airflow without loss of acoustic performance.

Can it be dismantled or transported?

Yes, some models are designed as prefabricated modules for temporary or mobile use.

Glossary of terms related to acoustic buildings

Acoustic building

Enclosure designed to isolate a machine, process or workstation from noise.

Hood

A lighter, more local structure, often uninhabitable.

Acoustic attenuation

Measured reduction in noise transmitted through the structure.
